“Dr. Brown: Thank you so much for speaking with our group of diabetic middle school students. The students both enjoyed and learned a great deal from your visit. We'd love for you to come back again!”
“I really appreciated your health seminar. It was very informative. The congregation gave your seminar rave reviews!”
Renee Du Jean, Guild President, Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League
"Dr. Brown,
Thank you for an excellent presentation, which you did on Friday, June 11, 2010, at the New Antioch Baptist Church of Randallstown, Md, regarding “Understanding Depression and Suicide.” Your presentation was very informative concerning what clinical depression is and its effects. Also, you did a great job in explaining both the biological and the physiological components of how the brain functions when one is depressed verses when one is not depressed. And as a result, those persons who were in attendance are now more knowledgeable concerning the genetic, physical, and cognitive triggers of depression.
Thus far, I have received nothing but great comments regarding your presentation! In fact, several persons would like to have you to come back to speak on similar issues.
Again, thank you for presenting in a matter that was not intimidating with medical jargon. You use of plain language to explain a frequently misunderstood subject, especially within the African American community, was commendable! Additionally, I believe that your presentation has empowered individuals to understand the seriousness of depression and its consequences, if left untreated.
Thank you for a job well done!"

Dr. Brown's Passion
At the core of Dr. Brown’s many interests lies his passion for teaching. He loves the practice of medicine in part because through practicing medicine he has been able to empower his patients by making health information simple and easy to understand.
Dr. Brown's Style
When some speakers step into a room they say to themselves, “Here I am.” When Dr. Brown steps into a room he says to himself, “There they are.” Dr. Brown firmly believes that having the opportunity to share his wealth of medical knowledge is an opportunity to serve, and not to be worshipped.
Dr. Brown's Teaching Philosophy
Dr. Brown believes that humans exchange ideas and information most effectively through pictures and images. For example, when one hears the word horse, one sees the picture of the hoarse in his mind not the written word “horse.” As a result, Dr. Brown strives to communicate with the use of very picturesque language.
This unique way of teaching allows Dr. Brown to relate often complex medical processes to everyday concepts. Dr. Brown has taken the time to demystify complex medical processes because he knows that true learning and behavioral change can only occur when true understanding occurs . Each of Dr. Brown’s presentations comes alive with creativity, visuals, interaction and enthusiasm.
